Their Dreams
Six-synced channel video installation
This work is inspired by images from children’s dreams about what could be, and what they hope to receive from the world, if it were possible. It reflects on individual reactions to universal issues, from the perspective of children. The dreams are based on interviews with children from various locales including Iraq, Palestine, Switzerland, Jordan and Finland. The animations are taken from drawings by the children, who were asked to illustrate their dreams. When entering the space, viewers will see the animation of the illustrations projected onto the walls, with the shadows of the children also projected throughout the space. They will see their silhouettes, hear their voices and see their actions through the movement of their shadows.
