Hamada
Video installation film
The film is an interview with an Iraqi transvestite living in Germany. Facing the camera, Hamada talks frankly about growing up in a society where he was often ridiculed and oppressed for being “different”. But things did not necessarily change once he moved to Germany. Instead, he is excluded for another reason, for being an Ausländer or “foreigner”. This is the story of a unique individual, both humorous and self-aware, living his life in the margins.
